I offer Obedience Classes in Kings County, which is located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. Classes are taught from March-June, September-December of each year at the Heritage Community Hall in Coldbrook.

Puppy Socialization Classes are for young puppies between the ages of 8 weeks and 5 months. Classes include play sessions where puppies learn to interact with other puppies, children and adults. A lesson is given each week on an aspect of responsible pet ownership such as nail clipping, grooming, conducting health checks etc. Q&A time is also offered where problem behaviors such as nipping, jumping up and barking are addressed. Handouts are given each week.
Classes are 6 weeks of 1 hour classes.
Family Pet Classes are for dogs over 5 months of age. Classes cover the training of your dog to obey commands they should know in order to be good family pets. Commands include Sit, Down, Stay, Stand, Wait, Leave It and Off. You will also learn how to teach your dog to walk quietly beside you on lead. Q&A time is also offered to discuss problem behaviours in the home and possible solutions. Handouts are given each week.

Rally Obedience Classes are a great way to have fun with your dog while continuing your obedience training. Beginner class is for dogs that have completed a basic obedience course. Advanced class is for those who have completed the Beginner class and want to continue obedience training or for teams that are preparing for Rally O competitions. Rally Obedience training involves completing a numbered course which has signs at each station indicating an obedience exercise that has to be correctly performed by a handler/dog team. You and your dog will continue to perfect your knowledge of obedience commands, focusing techniques etc. Rally O Fun Matches are held within the Annapolis Valley area at which all dogs are eligible to compete. In addition, Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) sanctioned Rally O Trials are held where purebred dogs can earn official titles.
Classes are 6 weeks of 1 hour classes.

Private Lessons are offered to those who wish to receive one-on-one training in their home.
My qualifications:
- Over 30 years of teaching Obedience Classes for Family Pets, Puppies and competitive Obedience (at the Companion Dog level)
- I have competed in CKC Obedience Trials and complete Obedience titles with 3 different breeds of dogs (Papillon, Basenji, Toy Poodle)
- I continuously upgrade my skills and education so that I can provide the most current training methods. Training gurus I have studied under include Wendy Volhard, Ian Dunbar, Sheila Bishop and many others. The latest Seminar I attended was in May 2007 at the University of Guelph.
- I am a Certified Evaluator for the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program
- I am a Certified Evaluator for the Canadian Kennel Club Canine Good Neighbour Program
- I am the Canine Behaviour Counsultant for the Kings County SPCA (Nova Scotia)
- I am a Life Member of the Canadian Kennel Club (over 30 years membership)
- I have a lifetime of close interaction with dogs of all types, sizes and temperaments
- Most important of all, I have a true love of dogs with no bias against any breed or mixture thereof

Sept, 07 - Completed Rally Novice title on Troy (Ch Maximilian Merry Times, RN) with high scores and a High in Class Award
July, 08- Completed Rally Novice title on Charm (Ch. Kinduhaven's Birks Blue Box, RN) with high scores and 2 High in Class awards
